Job summary

Hope Academy of West Michigan seeks a Long-Term Substitute Teacher (certified or uncertified) to serve Lighthouse Academy district. Coverage starts at Lighthouse Eagle Village (Hersey, MI) with potential coverage at other Lighthouse Academy sites in West Michigan, including detention facilities and community programs.

The role involves planning, instruction, and collaboration with a dedicated team to support at-risk youth, including ELL and Special Education students.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours) or an Associate's Degree or higher.
• Experience working with youth and/or families; experience in education preferred.
• Teaching certificate with applicable endorsement preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide education experiences to meet needs of youth enrolled in our district.
• Long-Term Substitute duties may include lesson planning and collaboration with staff.
• Assist with coverage during arrival, breakfast and lunch times and participate in weekly team meetings.
