Qualifications

• An Associate's degree or 60 college credits is required.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution.
• MSDE professional teacher certificate with the appropriate content endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide for instructional needs and interests of students with daily lesson planning.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and effective use of time.
• Demonstrate a variety of teaching techniques and instructional resources to implement the curriculum.
• Use evaluations to promote student growth across intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
• Maintain fair, firm, and consistent behavior and promote self-discipline.
• Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Follow school board policies and procedures to achieve school goals.
• Assist administration and staff in fulfilling the school's mission with ethical standards.
• Strive to maintain and improve professional competencies.
• Supervise students in various school settings.
• Maintain appropriate records and monitor equipment, materials, and facilities.
