Job summary

Habitat Charlotte Region seeks a Director of Land Acquisition & Development to lead land use, permitting, design, and development across three counties. You will collaborate with Construction, Family Services, Development, Finance, and leadership while building relationships with builders, developers, and community organizations.

The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, community presence, and an emphasis on affordable housing initiatives, zoning, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of land development experience.
• Real estate license in NC or ability to obtain.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience coordinating across Planning, Construction, Finance and executive teams.
• Ability to engage with local governments, developers, and communities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee land development permitting, zoning reviews across multiple counties.
• Coordinate with construction partners to align site locations and schedules.
• Lead contracts with co-developers and funders on development projects.
• Manage land sales processes and transfer developments to HOAs.
• Represent Habitat at community meetings and build external partnerships.
