Job summary

Florida Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Juvenile Probation Officer to support rehabilitation of youth on probation or parole. The role involves initiating contacts, conducting assessments, and coordinating services with families, schools, and community partners.

You will prepare reports, participate in court proceedings, and help youth meet conditions of supervision while maintaining case progress and safety.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience working directly with adolescents in one or more of the following fields: criminal justice, social services, or related youth services.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Preference may be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher and/or relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Case management, referrals, recommendations and assessment.
• Court process involvement and testimony when appropriate.
• Maintain and prepare social histories, court reports, and related correspondence.
• ODJJIS data entry and case file management.
• Provide crisis intervention and assist youth with goals, services and transitions.
• Coordinate with schools and families to support youth education and stability.
