Job summary

Thresholds in Northfield, IL is seeking an Employment Support Specialist to help individuals with mental illness progress toward employment goals aligned with their interests and strengths. You will be trained in the IPS model and will remove barriers by developing client employment plans and teaching full-cycle job skills.

You will network with local employers, advocate for accommodations, and document client progress, while collaborating with clinical teams for comprehensive care and ongoing

Qualifications

• Passion for mental health advocacy.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• A valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and a car for daily use.
• Willingness to provide transportation to clients.
• Availability to work in the North Suburbs of Chicago based out of 444 Frontage Rd. Northfield IL.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals find and sustain employment using IPS model.
• Assist clients in creating an employment plan aligned with interests and strengths.
• Support full-cycle employment skills: interview prep, resumes/cover letters, employer communication, transportation navigation; document progress.
• Network with area employers to increase opportunities and advocate for clients; build relationships with hiring managers and provide accommodations as needed.
• Collaborate with team and clinical staff; pursue ongoing IPS training and professional development.
