Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Physical Therapist PRN to support inpatient rehab services. The role requires a Physical Therapy degree and a TX PT license upon hire, with BCLS certification maintained.

Inpatient experience is strongly preferred, and this PRN position covers census surges, PTO, and weekends. You will assess patients, establish plans of care, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, effective therapy and timely discharge planning in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree completed from a Physical Therapy program.
• Texas Physical Therapy License required upon hire.
• BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

Responsibilities

• Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Obtains physician orders for therapy and validates appropriateness.
• Reviews medical records and obtains pertinent medical history.
• Ensures informed consent to treatment.
• Evaluates patients using age/diagnosis appropriate tests and measures.
• Sets measurable functional goals with patient/family.
• Determines plan for care and therapeutic interventions.
• Initiates discharge planning in collaboration with care team.
• Maintains patient safety and documents treatment and progress.
• Participates in department meetings and meets productivity targets.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy

Texas Physical Therapy License
