Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System, Bell Hospital campus in Kansas City, KS, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for the Inpatient Internal Medicine team. This full-time role features a 7-on-7-off 10-hour evening shift from 12-10pm and requires delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualified candidates will hold a Pharmacy degree and an active pharmacist license with ACLS/PALS/NRP and BLS desired; PGY-1/PGY-2 residency preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist - State Board of Pharmacy in state of primary practice site.
• ACLS - American Heart Association certification as necessary.
• PALS and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification as necessary.
• BLS - American Heart Association certification.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in performance improvement efforts to strengthen systems, policies and procedures.
• Attends patient care rounds and provides patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
• Supports staffing needs by covering supplemental shifts when needed.
• Ensures timely medication order processing through order entry and verification.
• Performs patient-specific medication profile reviews and adjusts dosing for renal or hepatic dysfunction.
• Reports medication incidents and adverse drug reactions; participates in safety reviews.
• Participates in medication reconciliation at admission, transfer, and discharge with patient education.
