Job summary

KDG Construction Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented Public Outreach Specialist in Los Angeles to support public communications, stakeholder engagement, and outreach for infrastructure projects. You will assist with plans, materials, inquiries, and records to ensure accurate information reaches community members and project stakeholders.

The role requires strong written and verbal communication, organization, and experience supporting outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• Experience in public outreach, public relations, communications, community engagement, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with proofreading, editing, and quality control skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with community members, businesses, agencies, and officials.
• Customer service skills and ability to maintain stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Implement stakeholder engagement strategies and project communication plans.
• Track and address public inquiries, comments, and information requests.
• Prepare and distribute traffic advisories, notices, updates, and community communications.
• Maintain stakeholder databases, distribution lists, and outreach logs.
• Draft routine correspondence, notices, and outreach materials.
• Develop presentations, FAQs, graphics, and informational materials.
• Coordinate logistics for outreach events and public meetings.
• Support website updates and content management activities.
• Prepare social media content, graphics, and posting schedules.
• Support media events, including attendee coordination and logistics.
• Maintain communication records and performance metrics.
• Coordinate internal and external distribution of project information.
• Assist contractor teams with approved communication procedures.
• Participate in field outreach activities as needed.
