Job summary

Baptist Trinity Home Care, part of LHC Group and within the Optum family, seeks a Speech Therapist in Home Health to assess and treat speech and language disorders, training patients in communication, swallowing, and cognitive skills.

You will develop a treatment plan, deliver interventions, and monitor progress within the plan of care, coordinating with the care team and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence.
• Current driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws and the plan of care.
• Evaluate function and assist in developing the therapy plan of care with physicians.
• Treat patients to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive abilities.
• Observe and report patient progress and changes to the supervising staff.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in speech therapy activities.
