Job summary

UPMC North Central is seeking a Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit at Williamsport Hospital. The ICU is a 28-bed, mixed specialty unit serving a variety of adult patients with opportunities for growth in a fast-paced environment.

Hours: Full-Time 36 hrs/week, Day with rotation or Night shift; every other weekend or every third weekend depending on seniority and blocked holidays. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for experienced nurses, plus loan repayment options,

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive relationships with patients and staff, communicates safety hazards, and supports safe work hours and lifestyle.
• Teaches patients, families, and new staff using adult learning principles and provides clear guidance through care transitions.
• Applies the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to set daily goals, plan care, and collaborate with the care team.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional development, participates in unit governance, and supports change to improve care quality.
• Identifies opportunities for quality improvement and uses evidence-based practice to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
