Job summary

UPMC Passavant is seeking a Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse with a BSN to support the CVICU/CTICU at our McCandless location. The role involves 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage.

The unit cares for post-surgical cardiovascular patients in a 16-bed unit. You will work with surgeons, cardiologists, and Pulmonary Partners, benefiting from a strong tuition reimbursement program, a loan repayment option, generous PTO, holidays, and career

Qualifications

• Active RN license in PA or eligible for licensure.
• BSN preferred for this CVICU/CTICU nursing role.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Takes personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction with the quality of care and service.
• Utilizes research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care.
• Formulates daily goals and a plan of care with patient partnership and holistic considerations.
• Demonstrates critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, spiritual issues for the patient care.
• Practices solid communication to translate patient condition to other care providers and negotiate care changes.
• Patient documentation is comprehensive to promote caregiver communication.
