Job summary

Legacy Community Health in Pasadena, TX, is seeking a dedicated Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to support breastfeeding families within our clinic. You will educate and counsel new and current mothers, coordinate with the healthcare team, and lead classes to promote evidence-based lactation practices.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration with nurses and providers to improve outcomes for families in the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• IBCLC certification or in process.
• Minimum 1 year related experience.
• Desirable Texas RN or RD licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assess, educate, and counsel breastfeeding women to initiate and maintain lactation.
• Educate patients on correct breastfeeding techniques and latching.
• Advise on breast pumps and milk storage.
• Coordinate care with nurses and providers.
• Lead breastfeeding classes and staff education as workload permits.
• Document patient visits in EMR and initiate referrals when needed.
