Job summary

NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development is seeking a Project Manager for the HomeFirst program to support down payment assistance initiatives in New York City. The role involves coordinating loan applications, liaising with servicers and partners, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related experience, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and two years of related professional experience.
• Graduate study may substitute for up to one year of the required experience.
• Must have at least one year of experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Process loan application packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify eligibility of applicants' income and HomeFirst loan amounts.
• Coordinate with loan servicers, lenders, and counseling partners.
• Submit packages for final approval to Program Director or Deputy Director.
• Maintain and track homebuyer files in the HomeFirst system.
• Enter data in HUD Disbursement and HPD Works; generate reports.
• Prepare and route end loan/enforcement documents for sign-off.
• Coordinate enforcement documents with loan servicers and attorneys.
• Monitor filings/recordings with City Register.
• Draft briefings, memos, property research, and compliance audits.
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
