Job summary

Universal Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Social Worker to join our inpatient teams in California. The role includes assessing patients and families, formulating treatment plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary staff, and providing advocacy and case management within hospital settings.

The ideal candidate holds an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and an ASW registration with the BBS. Acute care experience is preferred, with a minimum of two years in any mental health setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Current registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
• Acute care experience preferred
• 2 years as a social worker in any mental health environment required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients and families with assessment, interventions, support, advocacy, and case management as a primary provider or as ancillary support to the primary medical team.
• Develop treatment plans and intervene to address needs identified in the assessment and by the Team.
• Utilize knowledge of culture, age, and developmental stages to tailor interventions.
• May provide support and debriefing to staff following traumatic events.
