Job summary

Caretenders, part of LHC Group and a Caretenders home health partner, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver patient-centered therapy in home settings. You will follow a plan of care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist and provide education to patients and families to improve well-being.

Responsibilities include assisting with exercise, gait, ADL training, and mobility, while coordinating care with the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and treatment plan defined by supervising PT; perform only qualified procedures and suggest changes to the plan of care
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses to treatment; coordinates care with the healthcare team
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy within the PTA scope
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
