Job summary

Perry Township School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Perry Meridian High School. Under supervision, you will maximize learning for students with special needs by implementing district-approved curricula and documenting progress, outcomes, and student needs.

You will participate in IEP development, coordinate with administrators and staff, and communicate with parents to foster student growth and a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Indiana Certification as a Special Education Teacher is required.
• Valid Indiana teaching license in applicable discipline is required.
• Experience with IEP development and collaboration with PPTs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify learning issues through assessments and recommend actions.
• Assist in developing IEPs and support services for students.
• Coordinate with administrators and staff on student needs and services.
• Provide counseling to students and act as liaison with parents.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with colleges and employers as needed.
• Organize lesson plans using approved instructional rubrics and participate in professional development.
