Job summary

SailFuture Academy in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a dynamic educator to design and lead project-based learning curricula aligned with school goals. You will partner with leadership to create engaging, real-world lessons and assess progress across grades 8-12.

The role requires hands-on instruction, strong collaboration with families, and a commitment to supporting at-risk youth toward academic and personal growth in a startup-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience.
• Experience leading teams.
• Previous experience in teaching, training, or education.
• Possess a ‘whatever it takes’ mentality.
• Flexible and able to thrive in a start-up environment.
• Successful track record working with at-risk youth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead project-based learning curriculum and lesson plans within your subject area, in close partnership with school leadership.
• Facilitate learning for students in a hands-on, inquiry-driven classroom environment built around critical thinking and real-world application.
• Establish meaningful relationships with students and families that improve behavior, academic performance, and long-term outcomes.
• Contribute to school-wide culture by upholding and modeling community standards in and out of the classroom.
• Design and execute culminating projects each term that showcase student learning through tangible, high-quality outcomes.
