Job summary

Norfolk Public Schools seeks a High Needs (Life) Para/Driver to support classroom instruction and transportation duties for students during the school year. The role requires a high school diploma and may prefer a First aid/CPR certificate.

The para/driver will report to the Building Administrator and Special Education Teacher, assist with instructional materials, supervise students in various settings, and help transport students as needed under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• First aid/CPR certificate desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to students.
• Assist in individual or group activities, games, flash cards, computers, etc.
• Supervises lunchroom, playground, halls, classrooms and other assigned activities.
• Keeps assigned bus clean and maintains discipline on bus/van.
• Discharges students at authorized stops and follows safety procedures for school buses.
