Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's Degree in MPH, MBA, MPA, Nursing, and/or a Juris Doctorate degree preferred.
• Risk Management credentials, such as the ARM or CPHRM, are preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in risk management or the like discipline
• Minimum two (2) years of experience managing professional liability events in a health care risk management setting and/or professional liability claims experience is preferred
• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a clinician and/or equivalent work experience in a health care setting is preferred
• Minimum two (2) years of experience working with the public to resolve disputes or equivalent work experience is preferred
• Minimum two (2) years of experience developing and using databases to report information is preferred
• Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Aufgaben

• Create and maintain event review documentation and aggregate data about events involving patient harm or risks to patient safety.
• Implement strategies to mitigate events associated with patient harm by prospective consultation.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to clinical adverse events including TJC, DOH, CMS and FDA requirements.
• Collaborate in the review of events involving patient harm with the Quality Program and identify quality improvement opportunities.
• Design and implement educational programs on risk reduction measures and patient safety.
• Work with the Claims team and Quality department to identify remedial measures after adverse events.
• Provide Just-in-Time consultation to leaders on liability risks with guidance from Risk Management leaders.
• Coordinate claims investigation and legal defense processes with the Claims team and legal counsel.
