Job summary

Circle of Life Hospice seeks a qualified Bereavement Counselor to provide compassionate counseling for individuals and families facing grief, loss, and life-threatening illness. The role requires Arkansas LMSW/LCSW licensure, at least one year of related clinical experience, and proficient use of an EMR system.

The counselor will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians and community resources to support patients, families, and MSW interns.

Qualifications

• LMSW or LCSW licensure in Arkansas without restrictions.
• At least one year of related clinical experience in hospice, medical, or mental health settings.
• Experience with grief, life-threatening illness, and chronic illness contexts.
• Knowledge of grief modalities, interventions and best practices.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and/or group counseling for bereaved individuals across ages.
• Prepare and maintain electronic clinical files; submit weekly logs.
• Attend staff and community meetings; support a learning environment.
• Deliver on-site and follow-up counseling for patients and families.
• Conduct assessments, update treatment plans, and document contacts with services.
