Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Level Grid Modernization Engineer to join our Boise, ID office, with consideration for Denver, CO; other locations include Kansas City, MO or Redmond, WA. You will contribute to the Distribution Advanced Studies Team, shaping how energy systems evolve.

The role emphasizes planning, analysis, and leadership on grid modernization projects, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and participate in industry groups; some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years post-education experience delivering design deliverables for large capital projects.
• Strong command of English with written and oral communications skills; ability to present information and facilitate meetings.

Responsibilities

• Modernize utility distribution systems including planning, justification, and ongoing support of grid modernization programs.
• Lead engineering tasks on complex projects requiring specialized knowledge across disciplines.
• Prepare data visualizations and reports for interpretation and presentation of findings.
• Collaborate with professionals across disciplines on proposals and business development opportunities.
• Travel as needed and engage with industry groups and conferences.
