Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa seeks a Government Relations Manager to coordinate day-to-day government relations and public affairs at municipal, county, state, and federal levels. Working under the VP, Program Innovation, this role tracks legislative and budget developments and maintains relationships with government contacts, coordinating logistics for meetings and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
• Three years of experience in public affairs, government relations, nonprofit advocacy, or related field.
• Working knowledge of municipal, county, and/or state budget and funding processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Track legislative sessions, regulatory changes, budget priorities, and funding developments at multiple government levels.
• Maintain a current calendar of legislative sessions, committee meetings, budget deadlines, and advocacy events.
• Summarize policy and budget developments into clear written updates for leadership and teams.
• Own and maintain the government relations tracking system with accurate information.
• Provide staff support to contracted government relations lobbyists, including scheduling and follow-up.
