Job summary

refurbed is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement scalable backend services powering our marketplace. You will work in a cross-functional squad with engineers, PMs, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, reliable, high-performance solutions.

You will use Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ, in a Google Cloud/Kubernetes environment. Strong English skills and Europe-time collaboration are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing and building scalable backend services in production.
• Strong Go proficiency and deep understanding of distributed systems.
• Excellent SQL and relational database design skills.
• Basic familiarity with frontend concepts and tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core APIs and backend services.
• Own operations and monitoring of production systems.
• Integrate third-party systems and APIs into the platform.
• Develop and implement new features and services.
• Mentor juniors and onboard new joiners.
