Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to collaborate with grade level teachers and across grades.
• Familiarity with course content standards and expectations.
• Willingness to learn current educational strategies and curriculum.
• Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness.
• Basic understanding of current technology and classroom integration.

Responsibilities

• Teach district approved curriculum.
• Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Instruct and monitor students using learning materials and equipment.
• Communicate with students and parents regularly via newsletters, calls, emails, conferences.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Evaluate students’ academic and social growth; keep records.
• Identify student needs and refer for appropriate supports; develop IEP plans.
• Work beyond regular hours when required by FEA contract.
