Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Michigan Elementary Teacher Certificate (K-5 All Subjects, K-8 Self-Contained).
• Must meet ESSA requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with grade level teachers and across grade levels.
• Familiarity with course content standards and expectations.
• Willingness to learn and understand current educational strategies and curriculum.
• Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology and the ability to incorporate it into the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Teach district approved curriculum.
• Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter as per state and district regulations.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Instruct and monitor students in use of learning materials and equipment.
• Communicate with students and parents regularly and clearly.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for effective learning.
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth; prepare progress reports and report cards.
• Attend IEP meetings and plan for students with special needs.
