Job summary

APWU Health Plan in Elkridge, MD seeks a Financial Analyst – Audit & Compliance to oversee audits and ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance across pension and health plans. You will prepare journal entries and reconciliations, manage financial statements, and coordinate responses with external auditors.

Strong analytical and communication skills are required, with 3–5 years in audit or governmental accounting and the ability to obtain government clearance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience in audit, accounting, or governmental accounting.
• Knowledge of FAR and government regulations is desirable.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with GAAP and regulatory changes.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for pension and health plans.
• Prepare journal entries for Federal and Pension Plans.
• Prepare bank, investment, and account reconciliations for plans.
• Complete financial statements for Pension Plans and Health and Welfare Trust.
• Review audit findings and coordinate with external auditors.
• Provide back-up support for Payroll and A/P.
• Maintain plan personnel policies and update procedures.
