U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) to enforce immigration, customs and agriculture laws at U.S. ports of entry.

You will conduct inspections, oversee the flow of legitimate trade and travel, and determine admissibility of individuals and goods while preventing illegal entry and contraband. This federal career offers GS-5/7/9 levels with promotion potential to GS-11/12, a strong benefits package, and recruitment incentives for prioritized

Formación

• GS-5 qualification: 3 years general experience or 1 year at GS-4, or a bachelor’s degree.
• GS-7 qualification: 1 year specialized experience at the next lower grade.
• GS-9 qualification: 1 year specialized experience at the next lower grade or relevant graduate education.

Responsabilidades

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and the smuggling of illegal drugs and other contraband.
