Job summary

Upbring is seeking a Family Engagement Advocate to create and coordinate services for families and communities, fostering strength, healthy living, and overall well-being. You will support Social Services, Health, Nutrition, Mental Health, Transitions, Inclusion, and Parent Engagement, including referrals and crisis intervention.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families, staff, and partners, while ensuring compliance with Head Start requirements and fostering family advocacy for children.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Social Services or related field is required.
• Ability and willingness to obtain Family Development Credential (FDC) within 12 months of hire.
• One year of experience in Early Head Start/Head Start or related services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Family and Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Three years of direct related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain funded enrollment levels per Head Start standards and Upbring policies.
• Provide parent orientation to inform families about enrollment for Early Head Start or Head Start.
• Perform ERSEA duties with monitoring, compliance, and effective implementation.
• Provide ongoing case management through referrals for counseling, emergency assistance, or crisis intervention.
• Ensure follow-ups and referrals support child health care under EPSDT requirements.
• Conduct home visits and support families in parenting, child development, attendance, and wellness checks.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and community partners to support family engagement.
• Ensure PIR data is current in the data management system.
• Adhere to policies, safety standards, and Head Start/Minimum Standards; protect confidentiality.
• Staff must not use corporal punishment.
