Job summary

The YMCA of the East Bay is seeking a Family Advocate in Antioch to support families in the Early Childhood Impact program. You will lead goal-setting and coaching with parents, connect families to community resources, and advocate for children’s educational and developmental outcomes.

This full-time, on-site role offers benefits and professional development within a mission-driven organization focused on strengthening communities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in family development, psychology, sociology, or related field.
• One year of related experience in non-profit or human services.
• Cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practices with children and families.
• Valid California driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle with insurance; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive, respectful and trusting relationships with families and serve as a liaison between Community School partners and services.
• Lead goal-setting and coaching with parents and caregivers.
• Connect families to community resources and services to support educational and developmental outcomes.
• Advocate for families and support them in advocating for themselves.
• Engage parents in volunteering and program activities.
