Job summary

Boone County Schools seeks an Athletic Director to lead the interscholastic athletic program at Van Jr./Sr. High School. You will coordinate schedules, events, and transportation while working with coaches, staff, students, families, and the community to maintain a safe, organized athletic environment.

Responsibilities include supervising events, staffing, communications, and compliance with WVSSAC regulations, reporting to the principal, and promoting sportsmanship and student safety.

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable Boone County Schools requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of school athletics, scheduling, and extracurricular programs preferred.
• Ability to organize and coordinate multiple athletic activities and events.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Professionalism, good judgment, dependability, and commitment to student safety and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the athletic programs and activities at Van Jr./Sr. High School.
• Develop and coordinate athletic schedules, contests, tournaments, and events.
• Maintain communication with coaches regarding schedules, transportation, facilities, and officials.
• Assist with scheduling and use of athletic facilities.
• Coordinate transportation for athletic teams and events.
• Ensure events are properly staffed and supervised.
• Assist with arrangements for game officials, security, and event staff.
• Maintain accurate athletic schedules and records.
