Job summary

Clean Water Action is seeking an intern in Michigan (Ann Arbor or East Lansing) to help organize communities around water access, quality and environmental justice. The position runs 2 pm–10:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with in-person work in Michigan.

During a 10-day training, pay is $16 per hour; post-training pay is $20 per hour, with opportunities for performance bonuses. Both full-time and part-time options are available through the fall semester, with comprehensive benefits and travel

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Cultural competence and a commitment to racial justice and equity.
• Interest in environmental or social justice issues, non-profit work, or politics.
• Background in Social Work, Sociology, Communications, Political Science, Public Health, or Environmental Studies.

Responsibilities

• Organize and fundraise with our field canvass team to raise awareness of our issues.
• Aid community members in writing letters or contacting lawmakers on environmental and health issues.
• Identify volunteers to hold politicians accountable for their votes on environmental issues.
• Participate in press conferences, lobby days, and other events.
