Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio is seeking an Employment Specialist in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. You will guide individuals from intake through goal planning and discharge, matching backgrounds and interests to job openings, preparing them for interviews, and helping them enter the workforce.

You will build relationships with employers and public agencies, provide vocational services, conduct intakes, lead planning, assess skills, document progress, and ensure safety

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in education, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling, or related field.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma with three years of vocational rehabilitation experience.
• Experience working with diverse backgrounds, disabilities, or barriers to employment is preferred.
• Able to document program activities clearly in case notes and reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide vocational services including intake, job development, employment support, community-based assessment, and training.
• Conduct participant intakes and histories to identify vocational goals and supports.
• Lead person-centered planning with participants and review plans to track progress.
• Assess participants' work skills and help them build new ones.
• Record participant progress and complete documentation on time.
• Connect participants with community supports and referrals.
• Meet regularly with participants and attend planning meetings and required trainings.
• Follow CARF standards, applicable laws, confidentiality, and safety policies.
