Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking an English Language Arts Teacher to serve as a long-term substitute. This full-time, Monday–Friday role starts ASAP with a daily pay range of $240.00 to $293.00.

Sick leave and personal time off accrue pro-rate under the teacher labor agreement. The ideal candidate holds a MN teaching license for English in grades 5-12 and demonstrates culturally responsive teaching and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Current MN teaching license in English for grades 5-12, 7-12 or 9-12 or Communication Arts & Literature for grades 5-12, 7-12 or 9-12.
• Skilled in culturally responsive teaching.
• Skilled in effective communication.
• Skilled at learning strategies using multiple approaches.
• Skilled at active listening and asking questions as appropriate.
• Skilled in social perceptiveness and understanding reactions.
• Knowledge of instructional design, curriculum planning, and test design principles.
• Knowledge of English language structure, grammar, and spelling.
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance and educational planning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to design and assess standardized curriculum and testing.
• Create and implement instructional objectives and activities.
• Deliver classroom instruction and tutoring based on lesson plans.
• Assess student performance and adapt instruction as needed.
• Provide a supportive learning environment with appropriate reinforcement.
• Plan for and participate in in-service training.
