Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and six college credit hours.
• Experience with children aged 2–5 years is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a multidisciplinary team, including planning developmentally appropriate activities to support goals.
• Follow the lead of the teacher/therapist in modifications/adaptations and behavior plans to ensure that all children can participate and be successful.
• Take an active role in interacting with children in positive, supportive ways including playing, classroom activities, feeding, toileting, and other personal needs.
• Coordinate and execute daily programming when the teacher is not in the room.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and families.
• Maintain confidentiality for all students in accordance with agency policy.
• Operate independently when supervising a group of children.
• Continually determine what actions need to be taken to ensure the well-being of the children.
• Always model a standard of behavior consistent with agency expectations.
• Other duties may be assigned.
