Job summary

The Texas Association of Community Action Agencies, Inc. is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher for the Luling, Texas site.

The role runs Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, with a salary range of $15.45 to $22.58 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. You will implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged zero to three, work with families, and ensure compliance with Head Start standards.

Qualifications

• Current CDA.
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Child Development, Early Education or Elementary Education.
• One year of teaching experience in a child care, preschool or early education setting.
• Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish and English.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willingness to obtain Child Development Credential in Infant Toddler within one year of hire.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all program policies, procedures and activities as defined in the agency policies and procedures.
• Conduct and document all children’s health, developmental, and nutrition screenings according to agency policies and procedures.
• Report all suspected Child Abuse to the Child Abuse Hotline and in accordance with agency policy.
• Ensure that curriculum and classroom environments are developmentally appropriate in each class every day, and that lesson plans are maximizing instructional time.
• Interact with parents respectfully and include them as partners in their children’s education.
• Maintain relationships with community partners including ISDs, ECI, libraries, health care providers and volunteers.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional growth opportunities.
