Job summary

The Texas Association of Community Action Agencies, Inc. seeks an Early Head Start Teacher for Washington EHS in San Marcos, Texas. This Regular Full-Time position runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with pay ranging from $15.45 to $22.58 hourly, commensurate with experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that program policies, procedures and activities as defined in the agency policies and procedures.
• Conduct and document health, developmental, and nutrition screenings according to agency policies and procedures.
• Report all suspected Child Abuse to the Child Abuse Hotline and in accordance with agency policy.
• Ensure that curriculum and classroom environments are developmentally appropriate, maximize instructional time, including afternoon instruction.
• Ensure adult to child interactions are positive, appropriate and respectful.
• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum daily, ensuring required activities are included.
• Work as a team with other adults in the classroom.
• Complete documentation as directed in agency policies, including developmental assessments.
• Interact with parents respectfully and involve them as partners in education.
• Maintain relationships with community partners including ISDs, ECI, libraries, health care providers and volunteers.
• Comply with Head Start Performance Standards and other relevant regulations.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development.
• Arrive on time and maintain designated hours; adapt to schedule and location changes as needed.
• Provide appropriate care for children including diapering/toileting procedures and maintaining a sanitized classroom.
• Assist with recruitment of parents and staff.
• Submit time sheets and mileage on time to supervisor.
