Job summary

Upbring is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide temporary classroom support in Head Start settings. You will follow established lesson plans, supervise children, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting with routines, supporting social-emotional development, and collaborating with staff.

Travel between centers may be required; flexibility is essential. Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or GED; willingness to complete Head Start training;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Will ing to complete Head Start-mandated training and professional development.
• Preferred CDA in Infant/Toddler and/or Preschool and/or coursework in ECE.
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and good behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Follow established curriculum and lesson plans to support children’s learning.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment while engaging children.
• Assist with routines (mealtimes, rest, transitions) and promote independence.
• Ensure health, safety, and licensing compliance in the learning space.
• Support social-emotional development, problem-solving and respectful communication.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth transitions and report concerns as needed.
