Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate certification.
• Special Education endorsement required.
• Two years teaching experience, at least one year in special education.
• Master's degree required for Teacher Consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Consult with general education staff to develop appropriate programming for students with special needs.
• Provide assistance and instruction in the general education classroom to help students succeed.
• Develop instructional behavior plans and positive intervention strategies.
• Evaluate and report on achievement and personal adjustment of students on caseload.
• Select, adapt or develop instructional materials suitable for student abilities.
• Case manage and monitor student materials.
• Maintain special education records and provide required documents to the Special Education Director.
• Lead and participate in child study teams, IEPCs, 504 meetings, and staff meetings.
• Support students in developing study skills and work habits.
• Provide instructional support for progress in educational programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
