Job summary

Benhaven, Inc. in North Haven, CT is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our Residential Services program to support adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting, providing daily living assistance and compassionate care.

You will implement individualized support plans, help with activities of daily living, document progress, ensure safety, and collaborate with a Residential Services Coordinator. Part-time shifts include morning blocks on weekdays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pass a criminal & drivers background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (hygiene, meals, household chores).
• Implement individualized support plans under the Residential Services Coordinator.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Document daily progress and any incidents in individual files.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff; attend required trainings and meetings.
