Job summary

The City of Norfolk, VA is seeking a Licensed Crisis Clinician (Emergency Services Clinician II) to assess individuals in crisis and connect them with mental health services. The role includes crisis counseling in office and community settings and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Requires a master's degree in a clinical human services field meeting Virginia licensure requirements and an independent clinical license in Virginia (LCSW/LPC/LCP or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a clinical human services field meeting Virginia licensure requirements.
• Two years of mental health services experience or completion of the supervised clinical experience required to obtain independent licensure in Virginia.
• Independent clinical license in Virginia (LCSW/LPC/LCP or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assess individuals in crisis and link them to needed mental health services.
• Provide crisis telephone and face-to-face counseling in office and community settings.
• Document observations and maintain client records with confidentiality.
• Provide clinical supervision and consultation to staff.
• Prepare and maintain reports and program records.
