Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Houston is seeking a Cost Controller to join our life science construction team. You will oversee project cost control, monitor budgets, forecasts, and progress, and produce monthly reports.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in construction management, 5–7 years of relevant experience, and strong Excel, Primavera P6 and MS Project skills. On-site role with opportunity to influence large, complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 5–7 years of cost control or project controls experience on large construction projects.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project; strong Excel and reporting skills.
• Experience with monthly reporting, forecasting and change management.

Responsibilities

• Monthly project cost control and reporting aligned with the cycle.
• Monitor budget, forecast, actuals, and progress.
• Prepare milestones, planned value and earned value data, with commentary.
• Attend status meetings and update forecasts based on progress.
• Summarize performance metrics and advise teams and management.
• Interface with clients and consultants as trusted advisor.
• Track change orders with project team.
• Produce monthly management reports.
• Maintain records of scope changes and variances.
• Ensure SOX controls where applicable.
