Job summary

The State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections is recruiting a Corrections Sentencing Associate at the Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun. This role handles admissions, detainers, and complex sentence computations for inmates, including those housed out of state, while ensuring compliance with statutes and codes.

Responsibilities include interpreting court documents, interviewing inmates, representing the institution in legal matters, and coordinating custody and returns.

Qualifications

• Performing mathematical calculations for specific work – related programs (e.g. budget preparation, offender sentence computations).
• Maintaining, analyzing, and auditing of files according to established policies/procedures/statutes.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpretation of court produced and other legal documents; computation of complex sentence structures; interpretation of computations and procedures; interviewing inmates; representing the institution in legal proceedings and to outside agencies; coordinating temporary custody, and custodial return of escapees.
