Job summary

Staff Today Inc. seeks a Nurse Practitioner in Central City, Kentucky, to deliver medical care to inmates in a correctional setting. The role requires patient assessments, chronic care visits, and routine infirmary rounds, with documentation in SOAP format.

The NP will respond to emergencies, adhere to formulary guidelines, and coordinate referrals while supporting facility policies. CPR certification and active KY NP licensure are mandatory; corrections experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, valid KY license/certification for NP.
• Minimum of 1 year NP experience.
• Corrections experience preferred (medical/surgical or emergency/trauma).
• CPR certification required.
• PSV and compliance documents as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to inmates, including exams, chronic care, and rounds.
• Maintain accurate SOAP progress notes and follow formulary guidelines.
• Respond to emergencies and manage non-formulary referrals or off-site care.
• Support admission/transfer and referrals per facility procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in facility committees as needed.
