Job summary

CFG Health Systems, LLC in Bartow, FL seeks a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to work with physicians in a correctional setting, providing medical services to inmates in accordance with community standards of care.

The PMHNP will perform evaluations, prescribe within licensure, manage treatments, and educate patients while collaborating with custody staff and the health team to ensure safe, compliant care.

Qualifications

• Masters or higher in nursing with psychiatric/mental health focus.
• Current and unrestricted NP license in applicable state.
• National PMHNP certification.
• DEA registration as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents patient evaluations including history and physical exams.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Writes orders for meds and treatments under licensure.
• May perform invasive procedures as necessary.
• Dictates discharge summaries and transfer orders.
• Maintains and follows patient care protocols.
• Educates patients on medical care and treatments.
• Keeps up-to-date with best practices and literature.
• All other duties as assigned.
