Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C. (PAGNY) provides pharmaceutical services within NYC Health + Hospitals’ Correctional Health Services on Rikers Island. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist oversees the satellite pharmacy’s administrative, clinical, and drug-distribution activities and ensures safety in line with federal and state regulations.

Requirements include a Doctor of Pharmacy or B.S. in Pharmacy, NYS license, and strong computer and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• NY state license and registration required.
• Demonstrated pharmacy competence, computer skills and leadership.
• Ability to work in a jail/clinical setting within a hospital system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administrative and clinical pharmacy operations in a satellite unit.
• Enter drug orders and interpret the patient profile and formulary.
• Review orders for dosages, schedules, interactions and compatibility.
• Provide patient counseling and information to the healthcare team.
• Prepare, check and dispense medications including controlled substances.
