Environment America is hiring Campaign Associates to work on national and state campaigns to protect the natural world, oceans, public lands, and support clean energy, air, and water initiatives. The role emphasizes education, coalition-building, outreach, media engagement, and grassroots organizing across various locations.

Ideal candidates are drawn to environmental advocacy with strong writing and public speaking skills, a willingness to travel, and a readiness to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Entry-level applicants encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to travel regularly.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed.
• Training provided in advocacy and organizing.

Responsabilités

• Educate and mobilize public support: conduct online and in-person outreach to educate the public on our issues and how to get involved.
• Build powerful coalitions: reach out to organizations and affected groups to demonstrate support for our campaign goals.
• Earn traditional media and social media attention: organize news conferences and write opinion pieces; build a following on social media.
• Organize events and work with volunteers: organize webinars, community events and public meetings; recruit organizations and members to attend and participate.
• Lobby elected officials: meet with decision makers from city council to state legislators to advocate for our goals.
• Research and write reports: catalog and analyze data to influence public debate and media coverage.
• Recruit new people to your team: recruit volunteers, interns, and full-time staff.
• Run a grassroots campaign office: manage fundraising goals and a team of paid staff; may relocate for summer office.
