The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Childcare Assistant Teacher to support a safe and positive Two-Year-Old classroom. You will welcome children and families while maintaining an engaging educational program in line with licensing and organizational standards.

Responsibilities include supervision, safety, child engagement, and accurate record-keeping. The role emphasizes positive guidance, DHS procedure adherence, and collaboration with the lead teacher and director to ensure

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2,500 hours of childcare experience preferred.
• 30 credit hours of early childhood, elementary or related human services field education.
• 15 college credit hours and one-year experience related to the care.
• 2,500 hours of service.
• Current CDA certificate.
• Must keep an up-to-date DHS file.
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision of all students.
• Provide a safe, clean, and risk-free environment.
• Engage with the children to encourage their development and involvement in activities.
• Maintain maintenance records, including accident and incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance records.
• Greet parents and children daily and report or direct parental concerns to the lead teacher or director.
• Use positive guidance to support children.
• Follow DHS procedures and help others do as well.
• Provide care for the needs of children.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
