Children And Families First Delaware Inc seeks a Counselor I to provide assessment, prevention, and crisis intervention through home-based and family-focused services. The role requires flexible scheduling, on-call rotations, and strong engagement with clients and families.

The position involves maintaining thorough documentation, testifying in court when needed, and collaborating with community stakeholders to support client safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, human services or related field with 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
• Associate's degree in human services or related field with 2-3 years of related experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and respectfully with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide home-based assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and referrals.
• Carry and manage up to 15 cases.
• Conduct initial intake with client and family/guardian.
• Establish therapeutic relationships and ongoing engagement with clients and families.
• Maintain timely documentation in agency systems and records.
• Provide after-hours on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
• Transport clients as needed using agency vehicles.
• Participate in supervision, case consultations, and staff committees.
