Job summary

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is seeking a BFET Employment Specialist based in Seattle to support King County residents in building employment paths. The role focuses on coaching, goal setting, and connecting participants with trainings, workshops, and job opportunities.

You will work 40 hours weekly onsite, coordinate with DSHS and employers, maintain records, and help participants overcome barriers with practical guidance and steady follow-through.

Qualifications

• One to two years in employment services or related field.
• Ability to provide participant-centered guidance.
• Commitment to YWCA’s mission and equity.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with basic office software; ability to learn databases.
• Willingness to travel locally as needed.
• Familiarity with King County resources helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, enroll Basic Food recipients to BFET.
• Receive referrals from DSHS and determine eligibility.
• Conduct outreach to partners to build referrals.
• Assess job readiness and training needs.
• Develop individualized employment goals with participants.
• Provide job search assistance: resumes, interviews.
• Facilitate orientations and workshops.
• Coordinate training and supportive services.
• Maintain participant files and reports.
• Collaborate with Work$ Team and partners to coordinate services.
• Complete monthly/quarterly data reports.
• Apply social justice and antiracism principles.
