Job summary

North Idaho College is seeking a dedicated campus Security Officer to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. This high-impact role requires calm presence and quick thinking in emergencies.

You will patrol campus property, respond to incidents, enforce policies, and assist the public while coordinating with college staff and local law enforcement. Strong communication, conflict management, and tech proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• One year full-time equivalent experience in law enforcement or military service, or 2 years full-time equivalent security experience required.
• Background and fingerprint check must be passed and no felony convictions.
• Certification from a security or police academy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol college property to deter and respond to incidents.
• Respond to incidents and enforce campus policies.
• Provide assistance to the public and collaborate with staff and local law enforcement.
